2026 Exam Guide
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional Study Guide
Current exam coverage, candidate guidance, important topics, and practical preparation advice for the SAP-C02 exam.
What Is AWS Solutions Architect Professional?
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional is an advanced AWS architecture certification for people who design complex cloud solutions across multiple accounts, Regions, networks, applications, and data platforms. The SAP-C02 exam expects candidates to evaluate tradeoffs at enterprise scale rather than simply identify individual services. Questions often combine governance, resilience, security, migration, performance, and cost requirements in one scenario.
In 2026, SAP-C02 remains a strong credential for senior AWS architects because it validates architectural judgment. Candidates should understand multi-account landing zones, AWS Organizations, SCPs, Transit Gateway, hybrid connectivity, Route 53, CloudFront, global databases, event-driven patterns, backup, disaster recovery, migration waves, observability, and cost controls. The best answer is usually the design that satisfies all constraints with the least unnecessary operational complexity.
Who Should Take This Exam?
This exam is best for experienced cloud architects, senior engineers, consultants, technical leads, and platform engineers who already have hands-on AWS architecture experience. AWS recommends at least two years of experience designing and implementing cloud solutions on AWS.
Candidates should be comfortable reading long scenarios and identifying the true requirement behind wording such as multi-account governance, low RPO, centralized inspection, regulatory boundary, or migration dependency. It is not an ideal first AWS certification unless the candidate already has significant production experience.

Study Tips
Practice reading scenarios slowly and separate hard requirements from nice-to-have details. Build decision tables for multi-Region databases, hybrid connectivity, account governance, centralized logging, and migration patterns.
Use AWS Well-Architected thinking on every question. A solution that is technically possible may still be wrong if it creates avoidable operations, violates isolation needs, or fails the stated recovery objective.
Practice Questions Overview
Certoga's SAP-C02 starter bank uses longer enterprise scenarios focused on architecture tradeoffs. The questions are original practice materials and are intended to help you reason through AWS service combinations, not memorize live exam wording.
